PBISS Recognised as a Top Performing School in National Academic Olympiads (2025)

We are pleased to share an academic update from 2025, recognising the achievements of PBISS students across a range of national and international academic competitions.

In 2025, PBISS students demonstrated strong and consistent academic performance across a range of national and international academic competitions. These achievements reflect not isolated success stories, but a sustained culture of academic curiosity, discipline, and support developed through close collaboration between students, teachers, and families.

Throughout the year, PBISS students earned Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in mathematics, science, computing, logic, and language-based Olympiads, from Primary through Senior Secondary levels. Competitions included the Fermat Mathematical Olympiad (FMO), Singapore International Maths & Science Olympiad (SIMSO), Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO), Kangaroo Math Thailand (KMT), Hong Kong International Mathematical and Computational Olympiads (HKIMO / HKICO), Future Intelligence Students Olympiad (FISO), and the Writing World Cup (WWC).

In several of these competitions, PBISS students placed among the top performers at national level, including Gold awards and high-distinction results. Some students achieved perfect-score Gold outcomes in logic and IQ-based categories, while others earned multiple medals across different competitions, demonstrating sustained academic growth rather than one-off performance.

In recognition of these collective results, PBISS was formally awarded “Top Performing School” at national level in multiple competitions in 2025, including:

  • Fermat Mathematical Olympiad (FMO) – National Round
  • Writing World Cup (WWC) – National Round
  • Future Intelligence Students Olympiad (FISO) – National Round

PBISS also continues to serve as an official Olympiad competition centre on Koh Samui, welcoming students from other schools and, in some cases, neighbouring islands. This reflects the school’s growing role as a regional academic hub and a trusted environment for high-level academic engagement.

These achievements align closely with PBISS’s STEM+ approach, supported by specialist facilities such as STEM laboratories, 3D printers, cutting machines, and structured preparation for academic competitions integrated into the learning process. At the same time, strong performance in English, writing, and interdisciplinary competitions reflects a balanced academic model that values communication skills alongside analytical depth.

While PBISS does not define success by rankings alone, these outcomes provide external recognition of academic standards, curriculum rigour, and teaching quality within the Cambridge and IGCSE pathways. Most importantly, they reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting students as they develop confidence, resilience, and clarity around their future academic pathways.

We would like to congratulate our students on their commitment and achievements, and to thank our teaching staff and families for their continued support. We look forward to seeing our students build on these experiences as they continue their academic journeys.
