PBISS was established to provide excellent education and to serve the needs for international education of Samui’s local community. Our goal is to provide international education combined with Thai kindness and identity. This goal leads to our unique learning philosophy focusing on the overall development of students using STEM+ as a core approach.
At PBISS, we teach with a Cambridge-accredited curriculum for 500+ students, with 50% of students representing more than 40 nationalities. We ensure the same quality of education as students in the British education system, while keeping the Thai language and culture compulsory for all students.
We are a Cambridge-certified International School based in Samui since 2009 and accredited as a member of the Western Association of School and College in 2019. Both international assessments approved us as the most prestigious International School in Samui.
How we made ourselves the most prestigious International School in Samui
At PBISS, we established ourselves as the most prestigious International School in Samui by forming three key elements needed for providing an excellent education.
First, we design our curriculum based on Cambridge International Standard, used by over 10,000 schools in over 160 countries. We choose Cambridge International Standard as a basis for our curriculum from their emphasis on mastering subjects in-depth along with the development of skills needed for study and work in the future. Thus, we tailored our curriculum to comply with local context and requirements to provide international education without abandoning our local identity.
The Cambridge curriculum is enhanced with STEM+, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics approach. Became the Cambridge x STEM+ by integrating them into most subjects not limited to pure and applied science but including geography, languages, music, and sports. Our goals for the STEM+ curriculum is to promote interactive learning and provide initiatives that traditional education methods cannot provide.
Second, we empowered “inclusive culture” at all levels to make ourselves “A Home away from Home”. We started building the culture from the students by teaching them to respect others, listen to others, and help others. Our students are also supported by our teachers, mentors and staff trained in detecting special needs, which guarantees appropriate levels of personalised support and monitoring of progress for all students.
The third factor is our goal to provide the best education quality, using our Cambridge x STEM+ Curriculum taught by qualified teachers. PBISS can deliver an international standard of education that improves students’ education in unique ways through different areas of education, and help implement initiatives that offer unmatched added value to our students.

We enhanced the standard Cambridge curriculum with STEM+ which leads to our unique extracurricular activities designed to engage students in key areas in which they wish to explore or further develop their skills. We offer a wide range of activities, from STEM+ activities from Science, Robotic, Coding to Arts and Crafts, Drama, and Sports, which are available both on weekdays and weekends.
Another distinctiveness is our pastoral care. At PBISS, we are not concerned about students’ education but with their well-being, health, sports, social skills, and emotional welfare. Our process of care using inclusive culture and active partnership is to ensure that every student will receive guidance and support to help them be an impact maker for themselves, their surroundings and their communities.
Foremost of all, we are located in Samui, surrounded by a lush tropical green hillside and beaches. Our campus allowed our students to live within nature and an unpolluted environment, while complying with the same standard of an urban campus. We have fully-equipped laboratories, a music room, a library, a canteen, sports facilities, and three separate playground areas for different age groups.
